Web Scrubber

Sometimes a little dithering in the browser can improve the quality of your image. But how do you control which areas get dithered, and which don't?
          With web scrubbing, colors that are nearly web-safe are shifted so that they use one of the 216 web-safe colors; while colors that aren't even close to being web safe are left alone to dither when displayed in the browser.
          A few savvy web designers with technical backgrounds have done this in the past, using various hand-made implementations of a basic algorithm. It always required many steps and much work to produce the final results.
          Not any more. Web Scrubber performs all the steps at once, and does it perfectly – because you have better things to do with your time. (Like billing your clients and playing Doom.)

Colors

The Colors pop-up lets you select the number of colors for the image. The smaller the number, the smaller the file. (Don't get too carried away, or quality will suffer.)
          The Wide checkbox lets you select colors using two different methods. When checked, colors are chosen by the intensity with which your eye sees them. When unchecked, numerical color values are used. Play around; the right method varies by image

RGB

The sliders for Red, Green and Blue adjust the amount of scrubbing. (In other versions of this algorithm, this is called "grit.") The higher the number, the closer the image will come to a pure web-safe palette. With lower numbers, you get more dithering.
          Color ramps are adjusted to show how the current settings affect the range of colors. When the Lock box is checked, the controls are adjusted simultaneously.

Brightness & Contrast

These do what you think they do. Use 'em to improve overall image quality.
