ImageReady: Slow Display?

I loaded ImageReady on my PC, and it is so slow that I can't even use it ... (even to just click on a menu...) Any suggestions? My PC has 142 MB of RAM, and a 2 GIG HD...I don't usually have this type of problem.

This only happens when you open very large, high-res images in ImageReady – treating it as if it were Photoshop. It's not.
When we imported a high-res scan into ImageReady, it took forever to open, and even longer to display.
Once we understood that the program only wants to deal with 72 dpi images, the problem was solved. From the description of your setup, you should have power to spare for ImageReady.
When working with scans, just be sure to resize them in Photoshop (in IMAGE SIZE, choose 72 dpi; then SAVE A COPY for importing into ImageReady). You may as well flatten it while you're at it. – JZ
